Findings from the survey, the open forums, and several focus group conversations have been used to develop the New Superintendent Profile that was approved by the Board on April 6, 2026.

  • Strong Communicator and Listener: Values transparent, consistent communication and actively listens to stakeholder voices to foster collaboration and shared understanding.
  • Visible and Accessible Leader: Maintains a strong presence in schools and throughout the community, regularly visiting classrooms, attending events, and engaging with students and staff.
  • Instructional Leadership Expertise: Possesses strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, with experience improving student achievement and supporting high-quality teaching.
  • Commitment to Equity and Student Support Systems: Demonstrates experience strengthening supports for diverse learners, including Special Education, multilingual learners, and students requiring targeted interventions.
  • Ability to Build Districtwide Coherence: Leads efforts to align curriculum, professional learning, and instructional practices across schools to ensure consistency and collaboration districtwide. Will expand and extend cross-building positive relationships.
  • Strong Governance and Political Acumen: Effectively works with the Board of Education while maintaining appropriate governance roles, demonstrating the confidence and skill to navigate complex board dynamics.
  • Financial and Organizational Leadership: Brings strong experience in school finance, resource management, and strategic planning to maintain the district’s financial stability and operational effectiveness.
